CoCo Program 2024
Who are we?
CoCo targets undergraduate, graduate, and early-career researchers looking to advance their knowledge in Python and science communication. Students interested in learning how to communicate their findings via effective and innovative communication strategies in both English and Spanish.
US-based candidates from Latin, Hispanic, and Caribbean backgrounds with basic conversational English and Spanish knowledge will take priority into consideration for admittance to the program.

Time commitment
CoCo is designed to commit for five hours a week for two separate four-week virtual seasons in Spring 2024. The coding classes will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM EST, and a practice session will be offered on Wednesday at the same time. The science communication will be on Saturdays at the same time.
You are eligible if:
Background in conversational English and Spanish
Basic to no experience in Python and science communication skills
Geoscience field related
Early-career researchers: Ph.D., M.Sc., Post-doc, recent graduates (no more than 2 years after receiving your graduate degree)

GeoHackeo 2024
The GeoHackeo 2024 is the final program event. For a week, students will work in groups for 4-5 hours a day to develop a research project. They will come up with research questions and a methodology to test their hypothesis. At then end of the week, students will present their findings to a general audience.
