Dr. Nicole Gasparini, she/her

Former Program Manager

Nicole Gasparini is an Associate Professor at the University of Tulane, New Orleans, US, in the Earth and Environmental Sciences. She explores how the Earth's surface changes through time.

SciComm Team interviewed the CoCo Team to get insight into their motivation and purpose for working in CoCo

Q: What do you enjoy most about working with the team?

A: I love the energy and different points of view that everyone in our group brings to the table.

Q: What made you decide to be involved in a program like CoCo?

A: I am passionate about enabling earth scientists to learn how to code, and I have an intersecting passion for creating equitable earth science spaces.

Q: What kind of activities do you enjoy doing outside work?

A: I hang out with my human and dog kids! Folding laundry and straightening up my house are my calming activities.

We appreciate Dr. Gasparini's perspective and passion for uplifting underrepresented communities in Earth Sciences. You can follow Dr. Gasparini's work on her Twitter: @NMGasparini.
