Meet CoCo Cohort 2  

María Del Pilar González García

Luisa Chavarría, she/her

P.hD Student, Michigan State University 

Luisa studies experimental mineralogy and is interested in the physical and chemical properties of minerals under high pressure and temperature conditions in the Earth's interior.

Meet Luisa, CoCo Fellow 2023! 

The CoCo SciComm Team asked Luisa about her aspirations for the program: 

Q: What made you decide to apply to CoCo? 

A: "Decidí aplicar a CoCo porque quiero aprender Python para analizar los datos de mis proyectos del PhD y también quiero crear un blog relacionado con mineralogía "

Q: What are some of the things you enjoy most about CoCo so far?

A: "Me gusta mucho lo cultural y científicamente diverso que es el grupo de CoCo además del enfoque del programa hacia diferentes formas de comunicar ciencia por medio de coding y divulgación científica "

Luisa likes doing sports, watching movies, reading, listening to music and podcasts. She also enjoys learning new hobbies, and is learning to ice skate.
