Meet the Coding Trainers

Mariana Gómez, CoCo Coding Trainer

Mariana Gómez, she/her

Coding Coach

Mariana is a Ph.D Student at the Centro de Investigación Científica y de Educación Superior de Ensenada, Baja California, US. She researches coastal karst aquifers with electrical methods and hydrogeology

CoCo SciComm Team interviewed Mariana, one of our Coding Trainers, to get insight into her motivation and purpose for teaching at CoCo.

Q: What are some of the things you expect to learn from CoCo?

A: I am interested in the mission of learning and teaching without a language barrier. Concerning the vision, I want to get started on creating a "unbiased" geocommunity.

Q: What made you decide to be involved in a bilingual program such as CoCo?

A: It inspired me to decide that by teaching, I will learn a lot, face new challenges, meet new people, and make GeoLatina´s friends along the way.

Q: What kind of activities do you enjoy doing outside work?

A: I really enjoy hiking :)

We love Mariana's enthusiasm and energy to spread her joy in teaching and learning. You can follow Mariana's updates following her Twitter and Instagram account.
